AWANA
at Grace Baptist
Church
The word AWANA stands for "approved workmen are not ashamed", and comes from 2 Timothy 2:15.
Since 1950, AWANA has grown from a one church program to a worldwide ministry that includes more than 8,500 churches in more than 80 countries internationally. The ministry is growing every day!
AWANA is a bible-centered youth organisation providing weekly clubs and programs for children in the primary school age group.
What is the goal of Awana
To reach out to boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and to train them to serve Him. AWANA uses the gospel message of salvation by grace through faith plus nothing and emphasises the atoning blood of Jesus Christ at Calvary. The AWANA club at Grace Baptist desires to reach out to all the children in attendance and meets between 5.30pm and 7pm on Monday evenings during the school year. Club meetings are divided into Awana, Sparkies & Cubbies and are divided into times for games, scripture memory and doctrinally sound Bible teaching.
What are the Awana Objectives
Objective 1: To reach as many children as possible from the local community where they will
hear about the grace of God and have the opportunity to accept Christ as their
saviour.
Objective 2: To prepare the clubbers to accept the responsibility of spreading the gospel through
leadership, service and witnessing.
The AWANA meet in the Church on Monday evenings 5:30 - 7pm.
